How to Increase Traffic to your Website Using a Blog

I'm sure by now you've read or heard about the many different ways increase traffic using blog in your home based business.  Nowadays you may find that there are a lot of ways to increase traffic to your website, especially if you just Google search "Increase Traffic to Your Website".

If your goal is to create a website and drive traffic to it, I really suggest you to learn how increase traffic using a blog.   This article talks about different ways to help you along with the process.

I hope by learning it and practicing the tips that I tell you, you can make a big improvement for your quest to money online and work from home business.

Most people that are in internet marketing would agree that generating traffic to your website is the key to marketing success.

Most online business marketers in the world who work from home and make money online are struggling hard to increase their website traffic everyday.

  • The first thing you need to do is set up a blog, similar to this one!  Now as you can see, I use Blogger as a platform, which is a Google product. Instead of Blogger, you can also use Wordpress to make these blogs.
  • Second - get your own domain name and hosting.  I recommend using Host Gator or Cool Handle.  Doing this can give your blog site some personal flare, such as NateIsSuperAwesome.com, for example!

Wordpress and Blogspot are going to be the most popular, and both have their pros and cons.  Check each out and play around with them for a bit to see which one will be easier for you.

Once you have your blog set up, you can begin to create some blogs that have the same topic/niche with your main website niche or or at least have the niche that related to your main website niche.  For instance, if your website sells snowboards and skis, you might want to start blogging about anything and everything regarding to mountain life and snow.  AND, this is REALLY IMPORTANT. Blog always and often!  The more content you create, the more Google and the search indexes index your topics and that will increase traffic over time!

Also, while blogging, use your keywords in your content.  Note that I keep using the phrase "increase traffic to your website" frequently in this article!  Tricky, aren't I???

  • The next thing you need to do is build links from your new blogs to your main website. This is one of the ways to increase traffic to your website right from your blog.
Usually this way is very effective to increase your main website traffic.  For example, if my sales website or product page was SkiandDoAwesomeTricks.com, and you write a blog about your latest awesome tricks, you would want to put a link back to SkiandDoAwesomeTricks.com.

Note however, you must make sure that the niche of the blogs is the same as the niche of your main website.  You wouldn't want to blog about "Awesome Snowboard Tricks" and then redirect the buyer or customer to your "Home Gardening for the Illiterate" sales page - this is a sure fire way to lose trust and this will not increase traffic to your website in the long run.

This is not the only ways to increase your website traffic. You may find a lot of people are hiring or learning to do SEO (search engine optimization) for increasing traffic. You may find a plethora of new internet experts that will share information or provide some SEO service for you.  Note however, it may get confusing and overwhelming as to which of the various SEO tips will finally give a positive results for your website traffic; not to mention it can get costly to hire someone to build your website to drive traffic.

Honestly, from my experience and purchasing MANY online programs, I found that (here comes the uninhibited Sales Plug!) with The Millionaire Society Group videos, it shows you how to start building traffic organically, without having to spend lots of money on SEO.  Of course if you do have the budget, you can feel free to spend the money on that - as I always say, "make like a squirrel and Go nuts!"

  •  Promote your blog on Twitter and Facebook.
After you start blogging a ton, you will then want to engage your niche audience on Twitter and Facebook.  If you don't have a Facebook AND Twitter profile - stop right now and do it.  Of course you can use the many other Social Networking sites out there, but start with these two.

Follow friends on Twitter in your niche and people will eventually start following you back. Then start putting quality, honest content about your niche and occasionally put in your blog and website link.  But don't over do it! People will get annoyed and un-follow you.  People will then start reading your blog and going to your website, but only if you are genuine, non-boring, and give quality content.  Then over time as your site gets more content, the search engines will index your site for your niche and you will see an increase in website traffic.
So in conclusion:

  1. Start a blog at Wordpress, Blogger, or another site
  2. Write quality content, and often!
  3. Increase traffic to your website by linking your site to your blog, and talk about your blog to everybody on Twitter, Facebook, etc.
  4. Wash, Rinse, Repeat! Over, and over, and over, and over.

Good luck!
